About Project

This supply contract involved the end-to-end sourcing, inspection, and delivery of wellhead assemblies and casing/tubing pipes to a major offshore drilling site. The scope covered vendor qualification, third-party inspection, quality certification, and safe transport of materials to the offshore base. All components were manufactured and certified in line with API 6A and API 5CT standards, ensuring compliance with global oil and gas requirements.

Our Client’s Challenge

The client required urgent replacement of critical wellhead assemblies and casing/tubing strings to support the start-up of a new offshore drilling program. The challenge was to source certified materials within strict delivery timelines while ensuring compliance with international standards and offshore safety regulations. Any delay could have caused significant downtime and project cost overruns.

Our Approach And Solution

We leveraged our network of certified OEMs and trusted global suppliers to fast-track sourcing and inspection. Third-party inspectors verified every item against API specifications, and logistics were coordinated to ensure safe, timely delivery to the offshore site. Our dedicated supply chain and QA/QC teams ensured full traceability and zero defects.

Within the agreed timeline, all equipment was delivered, enabling the client to commence drilling operations without delays. The project reinforced our reputation as a reliable partner for oilfield equipment supply.

Our Approach And Solution

The project was successfully completed in two separate phases with both phases coming in on schedule and the overall costs coming in under budget. Emergency repairs to the facility were completed on December 11th, 2014 which allowed for the facility to operate through the critical winter months. Permanent electrical repairs along with less critical site deficiencies were completed in April and May of 2016 when a longer facility shut-down could be tolerated. In order to meet the required schedule, TransGas delegated procurement and construction management services to WSP.
